June 06 2007 - Oregon man files lawsuit after wifes death blamed on pesticide
A man whose wife died after their home on the Oregon coast was sprayed with pesticide has sued the Eugene company hired to do the job.
Fred Kolbeck of Florence filed the $$2.5 million lawsuit against Swanson's Pest Management this week in Lane County Circuit Court in Eugene.
Kolbeck's suit claims the Eugene company is responsible for the death of his wife after a technician sprayed pesticide chemicals in their home two years ago.
Swanson Pest Management officials declined comment.
The lawsuit is based on a state Department of Agriculture investigation, which concluded that the company violated federal law in several ways when its technician sprayed the Kolbeck home for bugs in June 2005.
